Last month, the attorneys of Antonini & Cohen attended the 2018 American Immigration Lawyers Association Georgia-Alabama Chapter (AILA GA-AL) Conference. This professional association is for attorneys who practice and teach immigration law, including more than 500 immigration attorneys in the Georgia-Alabama Chapter. Antonini & Cohen immigration attorney Marshall Cohen was quoted in a March 4, 2018 New York Times article written by Miriam Jordan, entitled “Did Melania Trump Merit an ‘Einstein Visa’? Probably, Immigration Lawyers Say.” Cohen and several other attorneys were asked whether Melania Trump, then Melania Knauss, was eligible for the EB-1 visa she reportedly received in 2001. The EB-1 visa program is reserved for individuals with extraordinary abilities, including scientists, doctors, athletes, and even models.
