USCIS announces a tamper-resistant card redesign for Form I-551 (Green Cards) and Form I-766 (EADs)! Issued since Jan 30, 2023, some cards may still display the old design. Don't worry! Both versions are acceptable for I-9 and E-Verify. Previously designed cards remain valid until their expiration date. Holders of older Green Cards without an expiration date are encouraged to apply for replacements.
The new cards boast holographic images on both the front and back, as well as a tactile or dimension printing integrated into the design. These added layers of security enhance the overall authenticity of the cards.
