SONAL R. SHAH

SENIOR SUPERVISING ATTORNEY

Sonal R. Shah is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she obtained her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in political science and international studies. Practicing immigration law solely for ten years, she is admitted to practice law in Georgia and Florida.

Sonal is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of Florida, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL). In addition, she currently serves on the AILA United States and Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Liaison Committee and on the AILA Georgia Alabama Conference Planning Committee.

 

Several experiences contributed to Sonal’s passion for serving the needs of immigrants. She has worked abroad in remote and rural areas throughout the world, including Malawi, South Africa, Thailand, and India. In addition, her internship with the Immigrant Women’s Program at Legal Momentum in Washington, D.C., and the North Carolina Justice Center furthered her eagerness to advocate for immigrant rights.

 

Sonal has experience representing clients in various immigration matters, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and humanitarian remedies. She has recently expanded her practice into healthcare immigration working with healthcare recruiting firms, clinical services organizations, and health systems nationally. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Gujarati, and Hindi.
